Judy Lief on One Body One Heart
What happens when your idea of your life is rudely interrupted by the reality of your life, your life as it is? This documentary from John Ankele explores this provocative question.
It is about interruptions and about meeting points. So much can be learned at meeting points and intersections: between Zen and Christianity, sickness and health, life and death, self and other.
At the same time, so much can be learned by disruptions such as serious illness and the encounter with death.
This dialogue between two caring and insightful individuals—Roshi Pat Enyo O’Hara and the Christian minister/Zen priest Robert Kaku Gunn—points to the liberating power of the realization that no matter our ideas or preferences, in the end, “It’s all tentative.”
So in this very moment, exactly as we are, we can be loving and free.
